Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)

Non-governmental organizations are groups individuals form without affiliation to the government or any other government institution. Non-profit status is one of the primary characteristics of these organizations, which are formed for humanitarian, environmental, educational, and emergency aid purposes.

A non-governmental organization is the exact translation of an NGO. A common misconception is that non-governmental equals private. These NGOs are non-profit and not concerned with profit and loss, as their objectives are purely humanitarian and moral. In light of this, a non-governmental organization has been translated into Farsi as a “people-based institution.”

Membership in NGOs is voluntary.

    What is a charity?

    A charity is a type of business that is frequently established in the form of a public and non-profit organization with public participation to address the needs and social problems of vulnerable groups in a variety of fields, such as health and treatment, livelihood, and education. Humanitarian and benevolent aid is provided to groups such as orphans and abused children, and they work in the field of all forms of humanitarian aid.

    Classification of charitable activities:

    • Providing medical expenses for the needy
    • Providing livelihood and monthly income for needy families
    • Providing for the expenses of children without an effective guardian
    • Providing for the educational expenses of children without a guardian
    • Providing financial support for labor children
    • Helping people affected by natural disasters and financial crises
    • Helping people with disabilities and the elderly
    • Helping addicts and homeless people

Sobh-e-Rooyesh began its work in 2014 utilizing the NGO model and has served 1008 children in 8 different Tehran centers with funding from the public.

 Sobh-e-Rooyesh has a reciprocal relationship with its supporters, so the doors of its centers and schools are always open to supporters and those who are interested. For the sake of transparency, Sobh-e-Rooyesh Institute publishes monthly financial reports and expenditures on its website and virtual pages.
